description
Eastern Beebalm (Monarda bradburiana) is an adorable native perennial with soft pink-lavender blooms and delicately speckled for added charm! Its compact stature and well-behaved, clumping habit is far less aggressive than other Monarda species, an excellent choice for smaller garden beds.
Blooming from late May through July, globular flower heads float above single stems lined with gray-green, toothed leaves. It performs best in full sun to part sun with average to dry, well-drained soil.
Beyond its sweet appearance, Monarda bradburiana serves as the host plant for the Raspberry Pyrausta (Pyrausta signatalis) moth and consistently attracts a wide range of pollinators! As the flowers fade, its seedheads add attractive fall and winter interest, extending its value well beyond the bloom season.
