Native plants benefit our local wildlife and insects that evolved here! These are the plants they know and need to survive. With the ever evolving decrease in natural spaces, increased monoculture lawns, and non native plants are increasing the decline of our local pollinator and animal populations

Native plants are a necessary food source and provide habitat for the local insects, birds, and mammals that have evolved with these plants long before we arrived. They need these plants to survive. This is why we are creating beautiful good gardens!

What Is the Difference Between a Native Plant & a Cultivar?

"A native cultivar is one that has been selected from a native population or a cross that’s been developed by humans"

While studies are still being done on native cultivars, good garden tries to use more straight species than native cultivars. When we choose any type of cultivar, it is not crossed with any non-native plant.

It is best to use 100% straight species, but it's not harmful to have a few native cultivars in our own gardens to enjoy our designed landscape

For land restoration, 100% native plants should be used
