description

Culver’s Root (Veronicastrum virginicum) is a tall and dramatic perennial, known for its elegant spikes of white to soft pink flowers! Once established, it is a tough and reliable plant that draws attention as it rises from the back of the garden bed.
Blooming from July through August, its long, slender white flower spikes create strong vertical lines above sturdy stems and dark green leaves arranged in distinctive whorls. Culver’s Root performs best in full sun to part sun with average to moist, well-drained soil.
In addition to its striking architectural presence, Veronicastrum virginicum provides valuable nectar and pollen that attract bumblebees, butterflies, solitary bees, and many other long- and short-tongued pollinators, making it both a bold design element and an ecological asset!
